From the Week of the
18th-22th June 2025 until June 2026 the intermesh collective will work at
KULTURBUNKER Köln Mülheim:
BODY.
NOBODY.
EVERYBODY.
Body. Nobody. Everybody. is a project that explores the tension between physicality (sensory experience, the limits of the body, and the significance of physical existence), individuality and society (from the isolation of the individual – Nobody – to the collective – Everybody), as well as social and ecological perspectives - the body in relation to the environment and social structures.
Our aim is to build bridges between people, cultures, and identities in the spirit of democratic thinking. The members of the INTERMESH collective are invited to develop both individual and collective artistic approaches freely and authentically.
Audience participation plays an essential role – visitors are encouraged to actively engage with and co-shape the exhibitions.
The project is process-based: starting in the week of 14th-22th June 2025, a series of evolving actions will take place at the Kulturbunker. A grand finissage is planned for June 2026.
Our collective has recently grown, and we are delighted to now be working with new members: Sarai Aporta, Laura Angèlique Baschiera, Hanna Beuel, Claudine Brackhagen, Nikita Treib. Their contributions enrich and inspire our concepts with fresh perspectives and powerful artistic voices.

we were guests at the Stephanus church in Uckerath (Bonn) and exibithed under the title
UNSAGBAR SICHBAR
SEPTEMBER - NOVEMBER 2024
STEPHANUS CHURCH
UCKERATH (Bonn):
Unsagbar sichtbar/unspeackably visible
The Intermesh collective was invited by the Stephanus Church in Uckerath (near Bonn) to work on the theme of mourning and grief.
The works of the artists from the Intermesh collective were exhibited from the 21st of September to the 24th of November 2024 under the title "Unsagbar Sichtbar" / "Unspeakably Visible."
For this occasion, we were pleased to welcome guest artist Francesca Casale, who contributed with very interesting works

August 2024
ODONIEN Cologne:
This must be the place
We were pleased to work with the Odonien team!
Our collective has also expanded: Viale Demir and Elisabeth Janzen are now working with us and adding very interesting artworks and concepts.
For this occasion the collective decided to keep the title "This must be the place." In fact the place (again an unconventional exhibition space) acted as a mirror for the exhibited works.
Another time the audience was involved in the peculiar but also difficult interaction between artistic experience, one's own corporality and biography and the extraordinary place where this experience took place.
The artists stayed true to their work on issues of art as catalyst for experimentation and research towards a REAL democratic reflection. Yet again a special emphasis was placed on internationality: a complex topic that, on the one hand, sees places of origin as the basis of a psycho-historical, particularly phenomenological and identity, but on the other hand confronts each of us with the unknown and contradictions arising from digital globalization. An internationality that finds its value when seen as a respectful confrontation of different microcosms.

November 2023
AREA Carugate (Milan-Italy): This must be the place
The exhibition, which was held at the cultural centre AREA and at the Circolo Matteotti, in Carugate, Milan, took the same narrative path as the previous exhibition which took place at the Bunker (Köln) with a few changes implemented for the then new historical-cultural (for example villa Gallerani) and structural reality of the spaces that welcomed us.
The artists remained the same: Marina Cavicchi, Juliette Kohler, Luisella Milana, Magdalena Mista, Hendrik Rennberg, Arianna Sacrati and Linda Smerda, as did the title, which borrows its name from the music piece by the Talking Heads group and from the film by Paolo Sorrentino.
"This must be the place" wants to emphasize our conscious choice of spaces and reflects our state of mind towards a world that has undergone a pandemic and that is too consumed by unconscious and short-sighted decisions, where we are missing the plot when turning towards the colonization of Mars rather than the protection of the Earth. We, on the other hand, want to protect and take care of both ourselves, with our contradictions and our authentic individuality, and the environment around us.
